What is a Cinemagraph?:
A Cinemagraph is just a fancy digital media term for an animated Gif that has the appearance of a still image (graph) with small portions of the image appearing to be moving or appear to be animated (cinema) usually in a seamless or near seamless loop. Some Cinemagraphs will loop the animation constantly, some repeat with a delay to give the viewer a surprise when the photo they are looking at suddenly turns and looks back at them or blinks like the example below.

Assignment = Create a Cinemagraph!
Design an animated gif that loops seamlessly using video/photography sources created by yourself.
- Plan your cinemagraph with a simple sketch of your idea... show details such as what area of the cinemagraph will show motion and describe how the seamless loop in your cinemagraph will work.
- Use a camera on video mode, with a tripod to create your footage.
- Edit your video clip in Photoshop and narrow down the looping frames.
- Add a motion mask with a copy of a video frame to isolate motion, this makes your GIF file more efficient and smaller in file size.
- Use the "Save for Web Legacy" function to create your looping gif.
