Your next assignment is an exercise in using motion blur to your advantage. If a fast shutter speed can capture a moment frozen in time, than a slower shutter speed would allow some natural motion blur to occur. If a camera is mounted on a tripod and the subject is in motion when the photo is taken they will appear blurred. If your camera is hand held and being swept horizontally, for instance photographing a sprinter or bicycle rider, your background will be blurred while the subject that is kept in the center of the frame will appear more focused.

- Shoot 15 or more motion blurred shots, experiment with different methods and subjects
- Choose your 10 strongest images
- Use color correction or image enhancement, cropping
- Post to your blog when complete
