Dutch tilt, Dutch angle, Dutch shot, oblique angle, German angle, canted angle, Batman angle, or jaunty angle (in non-cinematic static photography) are terms used for one of many cinematic techniques often used to portray the psychological uneasiness or tension in the subject being filmed. A Dutch angle is achieved by tilting the camera off to the side so that the shot is composed with vertical lines at an angle to the side of the frame. |

Dutch Angle Portrait Assignment:
- Choose a partner to work with or find someone to use as a portrait subject
- Shoot 15 different photos of your subject while holding the camera at a unique angle. Experiment with having your subject lean in different directions to play with perspective and angles.
- Choose your top 5 pictures
- Use photoshop to color correct, crop, add watermark with your name
- Post the 5 final images to your blog when complete
- Photos should show proper exposure and focus
- Project due by end of class wednesday
